Our Story

Hi, I’m Brandon. As a lifelong cyclist and outdoor enthusiast, I thrive on being prepared with lightweight, reliable gear that doesn’t hold me back. But when it came to dog walks, I hit a roadblock. The store-bought options just didn’t cut it.
So, I took matters into my own hands. Starting with a humble musette bag—a lightweight bag used in bicycle races—I began designing the ultimate gear bag for dog lovers. It needed to be light yet durable, slim but roomy, stylish, comfortable, and easy to grab and go.
Walking Amos and Myles and carrying poop bags in the musette bag: The name was initially a joke, but it stuck: “poop” plus “musette” equals “Puzette!”
During the design process, each decision was important—the fabric, the shape of the pockets, the strap stitching, and the hardware and accessory attachments. Everything needed to come together to deliver incredible functionality while staying delightfully simple.
My grandmother taught me to sew, but it had been a few years, so I took a class to refresh my skills.
It became evident during design that I wasn’t a master seamstress. My sewing ability was great for prototyping, but not for production.
This led me on a search for the right partner, and I found them—a family-owned sewing shop in the heart of Denver. I am proud to say that together, we’re keeping Puzette production local, right here in Colorado.

Now, we have transformed my makeshift musette into the Puzette you see today. It’s simple, complete, lovable, and ready to make dog life better every day.

Whether we’re playing in the backyard, going for a walk, or heading out on an adventure, I rely on my Puzette to show up ready for my dogs - they’ve waited all day for this, and they deserve my best.
Our Values
As we build Puzette, there are many decisions and choices we have to make. By outlining our values, we can make choices consistently to ensure that we operate and grow Puzette in the right direction and the right way.
Our first published set of values may look familiar - these are ideas we have picked up from others that we believe in. As we grow, we are open to developing and adopting new values to help guide us.
Leave No Trace
Enjoying Nature and taking care of the planet are at the foundation of Puzette. Our original makeshift bags were to help us pick up and pack out after our dogs, and we champion this as a core value. As a company, we also strive to follow the Rs of Sustainability - Reuse, Reduce, Repair and Recycle - in order to minimize the raw materials we use and maximize their utility.
Be Prepared
I’ve believed in this motto since my young scouting days, as Preparedness leads to greater experiences and outcomes. Having the right tools AND mindset when embarking on new adventures, whether epic or everyday, allows us to be present and handle what may come our way.
Be a Loyal Friend
This is the partnership program of the Morris Animal Foundation, and first and foremost it applies to our dogs - our dogs are amazing companions and we owe them our best. We believe this also applies to our relationships with our customers and business partners - loyalty means standing behind what we say, following up, and doing our best for all those we work and interact with.

For many things, I like the KISS Principle: Keep It Simple, Stupid! But only focusing on Simplicity can be a bit one-sided. That’s why I love the idea of SLC - Simple, Lovable and Complete. From our bags and other products, to our website and emails, to our business plans and operations, we strive to make things Simple, Lovable and Complete.
